With the rapid development of internet, the application of B/S net architecture is much more popular, but for the limitation of the net and the ability of users, the B/S needs to be developed and be more perfect. At the same time, a new suitable terminal is needed to fit the new architecture, for there are still much more functions in the current terminal, and the price of them are too high to be accepted by lots of small groups. So, the new terminal must be simple and cheap enough to suit the customers.To the above question, the thesis gives a terminal which is based on embedded system and combines the advantages of both B/S and C/S architecture. On one hand, the terminal could give solution to the problem of net, and on the other hand, it is much more stabilization for the LINUX operation system.At first, the thesis introduces the information of ARM7, net architecture and some else related to the system, and then gives comprehensive analysis to the terminal system, gets the demands of the system function and capability as well as both the logical module partition and the function module partition. At last, the thesis gives the information about the project design and the realization of both hardware and software, at last gets the conclusion.The thesis shows the system configuration model and the development environment. It is the ARM processor that the main part of the terminal system's hardware platform, which is the basis of the development of the terminal application software. Considering the applicable environments and the speed of the processor and so on, the thesis chooses the S3C44B0 as the CPU, which is based on the ARM720T kernel. And the model's hardware platform ,which includes an internet interface, a USB_HOST interface, two UART interface, an 8*8 keyboard, a LPT printer interface and a LCD interface, is composed with function module and interface module, for example the CPU module, the storage module, the communication module, the power module and so on, and all of the above are based on the demands analysis. At last the model combines the replanted embedded LINUX OS and application process to become the embedded terminal which collects the advantages of B/S and C/S net architecture.At the end, the thesis gives the sum-up of the whole project, discusses some existed problem, and finds out several new aspects to research.
