The Research And Development Of Incline Smart Sensor With CAN Bus

Tilt measuring is an expertise that can be used in making sure the incline of the spatial objects. Tilt sensor based on MEMS and MCU technology can be used in automation, engineering machinery, medical equipment, etc. As a promising fieldbus, CAN bus has some outstanding characteristics, such as real time, reliable and flexible. It causes the revolution against the traditional control system structure, then the new style network-integrated wholly distributed control system comes into being, and CAN is the typical representative. With the incline measuring technology and fieldbus technology integrating and the intelligent sensor research, incline fieldbus measure can come into work, and it will take an engineering appliance future in the industry control field.In this paper, the MEMS accelerometer and CAN are the research object. The sensor performance and CAN node have been studied in the system in which C8051F040 is the main controller. The tilt/acceleration sensor output is sent to the SCM development board by SPI, after passing the low pass filter and ADC. SCM, which integrates the CAN controller, does the digital filter and nonlinear compensation job, and sends the final data to the PC node in CAN network.The main work contains the hardware design and the software design. In the former, the sensor circuit including the low pass filter and ADC, and the SCM circuit including CAN interface are designed. In the latter, the SPI Communication, digital filter, nonlinear compensate and CAN interface driver program are designed. In addition, CAN/RS-232 adapter node is designed too. In the last, the nonlinear error is tested and analyzed.In this paper, the sensor system angle measurement range is -45°to 45°, measurement accuracy is±0.2°. The CAN interface can communicate with other CAN node, and the Baud rate can come to 1Mb/s.
