In recent years,mobile communication industry grows in a very high speed,mobile phone has become an important communication tools in daily life.SIM card is an important sub-module for mobile communications systems.It is both a user certificate, and also a component of the GSM network,keeping the user's personalized information and network-related data.As mobile communication network and mobile phone were more and more popular,SIM card issue is continuing rising.Each SIM card has to be initialized to store the basic user and network information,and it's complicated and arduous to have large quantities of SIM cards to be initialized.so It is necessary to help design a SIM card programming equipment to provide safe, reliable and efficient SIM card programming service.Based on the market demand and reality, a SIM card writer array was developed with the control system. The array is consist of smart card readers, with which the data is written into the SIM card. The readers are connected to several ARM-based control boards. A Linux operation system, which provides the network support, is running on the control board. Through several hubs, the control board communicates with A PC using TCP/IP. Softwares are developed under Linux and Windows. Experiment shows that 1920 cards can be written per hour with the standard amount of data of a SIM card.Finally the system improvements are discussed.After that this equipment can be applied to other smart card programming services to meet similar needs in other industry fields.
