Research On Data Integration Of Railway Based On Data Warehouse

China Railway Information System has reached a degree of maturity after years and accumulates great capacity of business data. However, the data scattered in several independent systems without sharing and consistency lead to the phenomenon of "isolated island of information" which affects data analysis and application. Then, it will be difficult to offer comprehensive and exact data to decision-makers. To solve these problems and promote leaping development of China railways, technology of data warehouse is needed to effectively integrate, refine and process data, thus to better support decision systems and provide first-hand accurate and scientific information for all level managers.This paper provides an overview of data integration technology of domestic and overseas, data warehouse theory and relevant technologies, which will be the foundation for further research and carrying out data warehouse mentioned in later chapters.This paper focuses on the model of data warehouse. Based on the detail analysis of characters and sharing demands of railway data, a three-tier model is put forward for building data warehouse architecture, and also analysis subjects in details. At the same time, problems of searching information in low-granularity and querying across subjects that may arise in traditional data warehouse get solved. At last, a common data model for fast building data warehouse is put forward.According to subject of freight transmission character analysis, the paper designs and implements data warehouse architecture on the platform of SAS, and also achieves to extract data from data sources by connecting SAS with DBMS. Based on the study of the thesis, data warehouse will be a place to realize full integration of railway data and provide a unified data storage construction, which will provide a standard and comprehensive data source for data analysis and application, and also future mining in depth and width.
