Enrgy shortage is more and more serious along with rapid development of economy in China. On the one hand, cut and restriction of power occurs from time to time, the price of oil fuel rises fastly. On the other hand, energy wasting and low energy utilization rate is very general in many enterprises of. Against such situation, it is very urgent and important to save energy and reduce sewage discharge in our country, in particular, iron and steel enterprises should be implemented firstly. It is a primary means to using modern means of electronic, communication and computer technology for saving energy and reducing sewage discharge.The dissertation is based on such background. After analysising production and energy consumption features, The Real-time Detecting and Querying System for Energy Consuming Data in Large Steel Plant is designed and developed by using electronic measurement technologies, RS-485 communication, LAN, database and software technologies. Energy consumption data is collected and uploaded by the system through RS-485 bus and LAN network. In each steel workshop, intellective meters gather energy consumption data and send which to data collector. Then, the data collector analyse the data and pack it to TCP/IP frame, also immediately upload to computer center. Computer center store these datas into database. Using monitor software, the datas can be displayed quietly and dynamicly, when necessary user can query the energu consumption database and output Excel report forms.The dissertation explains how to gather energy data by intellective meters, designs RS-485 bus and LAN network. The hardware architecture of data-collector and softwares for collecting and uploading and illuminated in detail. In addition, database is established in SQL Server 2000 platform, the monitor software is built with C# language under .Net platform.A system of detecting energy consumption data and querying is developed, which is suitable for lager steel plant, scheme and hardware, software design is finished by myself. After testing, the system can be used in actually production surroundings.
