The robust performance of internal mode control is studied in this paper. Based on robust performance criterion of control system, this paper proposed an optimization design method of internal mode controller and the optimization condition on the filter's time-constant of the internal mode controller is deduced theoretically. The robustness measure of the internal model control system is defined and analyzed. The internal model controller is designed in the boiler liquid level and main-steam temperature of the thermal power plant with the optimization control method. Simulation results demonstrate the efficiency of the method.
