Embedded system's advantage in reliability, cost, volume, consumption, make its application more and more extensive. The usage of the combination of embedded system and Internet technology helps the information collected by embedded facilities which will be transmitted to every corner of the world conveniently and rapidly.ARM is an low power ,high performance and 32 bit RSIC processer, which is applied to many kinds of consumer electronics because it have many advantages, such as fast speed, low power, and rich resources. The digital romote monitoring based on ARM is a new application based on modern communication technology Compared with analog monitoring system, it has features such as lower orginazing net cost, smaller system volume and weight, and easyer operation and maintenance. In the recent years,ARM technology is developing quickly, and new products come out continuously. All large companys launch new products. My design is a plan of web digital vidicon ,which does not use a specific chip for image compression but a Motorla's ARM chip,MC9328MX1.The main tasks of this design are to acquire image datas using CMOS Image Sensor, and compress and code the image datas with softwanre, and pack and send datas. This design use MC9328MX1 processor ,which can reach the highest frequency 200Mhz ,and has the CSI interface. The CSI interface can directly receive the image datas from CMOS Image Sensor OV7640. MC9328MX1 is a processor designed for multimedia, which integrateds MMA and DCT .Because this design uses ARM processor and Linux operating system, and compress and code image datas with software, it saves the cost and is very suitable for low resolution, low cost,long-distance monitoring application.
