With the development of Virtual Reality, much research and application upon Digital Museum grows well, thus it probably will plays an important role to do some research on technology of 3D Engine, effect of 3D presentation and ways of interaction. Nowadays, most domestic Digital Museums are designed to present 3D scene and media information such as text, images .etc by web-page and database with web technology and 3D plug-ins , the effect of presentation is not impressive, still the ways of interaction is single, and it is not widely used for Digital Museum to combine multiple media and many interactive ways using immersive 3D presentation system.Based on research on the technology of 3D presentation, and taking consideration of the devices and research topics, this dissertation will analyze a system based on a multiple projection-based immersive 3D presentation system:MultiPro. And will mainly give analysis on presentation of 3D scene and media, and interaction design.This dissertation does some research on technology of 3D scene management, a new method of non-complete partitioning of Octree is provided by using the idea of Axis-Aligned BSP-tree based on the analysis of normal Octree, and it gives a good result of the scene partitioning. Then, through analysis on various factors which impact the rendering speed, it brings forward a good rendering management based on sort of material, and approaches a impressive promotion of rendering speed. About the rendering of character in 3D system, based on the normal texture-based method, it gives a improved way by texture-grouping and vertex array-using, and there is a remarkable speedup of rendering, of large numbers characters; the schemes of high-resolution image browsing and overlay rendering in immersive scene are also provided. About the interaction, it gives a good way of the Virtual Guide with multiple media auto presentation mainly for the Digital Museum and high resolution fresco browsing. Finally there is a brief implementation of our system at the end.
