In the thesis, the elementary theory and interrelated technology of bistatic lidar are studied. Firstly, the ranging forecast of bistatic lidar is discussed, among which, atmospheric attenuation influenced by variation of heights is considered. In addition, characteristics of laser's propagation in a slant path near the ground, SNR, and background noise of bistatic lidar are analyzed. Then, detection probability of bistatic lidar is investigated, factors influenced by the detection probability are found and analyzed in detail, and combining with scanning mode and scanning airspace, the placement of base are studied in brief. Through the study of range accuracy and azimuth accuracy, some factors which influence measuring precision are gained, and based on target positioning, equations of target location and expressions of locational accuracy are obtained. Eventually, using the principles system, bistatic lidar detection is verified to be feasible.
