The muzzle blast overpressure is one of the dynamic parameters in self-propelled gun test. Its precision measurement is an essential process in the auto-gun development and the performance detection. Data acquisition subsystem is an essential constituent of the test system, and it plays an important role in guarantying the precision of test data. In view of fact that the existing data acquisition system is low precision of test data, difficult to maintain and enlarge, uneasy to take and so on, a kind of signal acquisition and processing system based on universal serial bus (USB) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is presented.First, the FPGA technology and USB specification are introduced. Then the hardware and software design of the system are completed based on the overall scheme design. The hardware system includes data acquisition, storage, USB2.0 connection and so on; the software system includes the software architecture, the USB firmware and the driver, the user interface and so on. On the base of the function of the system, the FPGA internal logic is designed and implemented using modularized design method. Finally, the environmental testing for the system is carried on, and the comparison and analyses are made in terms of experiment results.Testing of system shows that the system successfully provides a stable, low cost and portable solution for the data acquisition.
