To be considered as one of the key technologies that realize the high-speed broadband wireless access in the future, the wireless MIMO technology will be wide applied in the third generation (3G) or beyond third generation (B3G) mobile communication. Of course, it is not so easy to realize this unprecedented target, and the traditional communication systems with single-antenna transmitting and receiving are confronted with a tough challenge. Fortunately, Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) has provided a novel solution to this problem. However, many more problems are urgently needed to be solved. This dissertation focuses on the MIMO channel modeling and spatial-time correlation of MIMO channel model. According with the real environment, the channel model would be the foundation of evaluating the performance of spatial-time algorithm and designing the high-powered communication systems. The spatial-time characteristic is very important for the performance of spatial-time algorithm. The major contents in this dissertation are: firstly, the dissertation describes the conception and analyses the typical MIMO channel models including Physical models and non-Physical models. Secondly, three MIMO channel models are modeled in system level and link level: they are SCM (Spatial Channel Model), SCME (Spatial Channel Model Extension) and KBSM (Kronekcer-based Spatial Model). The modeling methods, designing plans and simulation flow charts are discussed. Thirdly, the theory of MIMO channel spatial-time correlation is deduced, the spatial-time correlation of the three MIMO channel model are researched and simulated. At last, some ideas and suggestions are brought forward for the further work.
