Research On GRID Routing Protocol In Mobile Ad Hoc Network

Mobile Ad hoc network (MANET) is a multiple-hop temporary autonomy system ,which is not necessary to use fixation infrastructure to support, and the network can mobile freely at the same time. It is a peer to peer network without centers, possessing many quality traits, and is applied to more and more fields. For the inherent topology structure of the Ad hoc network, the conventional protocols of cable network and cell mobile network are not applied directly. It is necessary to design a new protocol to suit the network. The routing protocol is one of the most important problems. The performance of routing protocol will affect the whole performance of Ad hoc network.With the development of the positional equipments such as GPS (global position system), the routing algorithm based on position information is becoming a hot research field recently. In the paper, based on the detail researching of a fully lacoation-awre routing protocol GRID, a new automatically repaired GRID routing (named GRID_RAR) is given out. By using the network emulate tool of OPNET, performance of the new algorithm GRID_RAR compared with AODV and GRID is given in this paper, and we find that the new algorithm can not only maintain the good performance of traditional GRID but also obviously reduce the number of control packets.
