The Research And Design Of Network Test System Based On IXA

Network test is an import reseach point. But it also faces a lot of chanllenges. How to capture the data packets? How to design a perfect data-sorting algorithm? How to gernerate the network flow which is defined by user? All of these are the import research points. There are a lot network test products for different purposes. Some are software based on PC machine. The others are network test equipments based on hardware. But all of these products have their own disadvantages, for example, they can't meet the need of agility and expansibility. Network processor is the new solution to meet this need.The thesis firstly does some reseach to some network test products. And then the thesis summarizes the base functions which the network test system must have. An Integrated network test system includes network flow gerneration system and the network flow monitoring system. So the thesis researches the two subsystem modules. The thesis also analyzes the base problems in implementing the two subsystems, summarizes the relative key technology. The author learns the architecture of the IXA, especially the IXP425 and IXP2400. During the time of writing the thesis, the author also learns all kinds of the network protocols, and researches the network develop library: Libnet Libpcap. Based on all the knowledge, the author designs a network system based on IXA, implements the basic functions and main algorithms of the system, and tests the basic functions of the system. At last the author summarizes the advantage of the system and mentions the sulotions to advantage the system.
