Along with the network technology's developing continuously, the network security question is becoming more serious day by day while the network speed and the services are increasing. So the high speed network security equipment needs higher performance, and developing the high speed network security equipment based on the network processor is a good solution.In this paper, based on the research of network processor's software and hardware structure, a network data forward project based on IXP2400 is designed. Then the data's process of the four kilomega network ports is analysed. In the end, the project is proved to be feasible through the analysis of the project's performance.In this foundation, three kind of network data encrypt projects through different interfaces to link security processor are designed. Through the analysis and the comparison of three kind of projects's software/hardware implement and performance, the gist of theory and technic to select encrypt project is discussed.
