Based On Intel Network Processor Gigabit Firewall Mid-stream Modules And Wimax Broadband Wireless Systems In The Mac Sub-module Design And Realization

Nowadays the most obvious trend with the network is the increase of data rates, meanwhile, there is significant effort in developing new protocols and services. However, the traditional network devices which are ASIC based or pure software based, could hardly satisfy with both performance and flexibility requirements. To overcome this obstacle, the parallel and programmable network processors have been invented, which carry the network developments to a new stage.This dissertation, which mainly covers my research and development work based on Intel Network Processors, include two parts. The first part which have been paid more attention is about the Giga bits FireWall System based on Intel IXP2400 Network Processor, the other part is a brief introduction about the design and implementation of the WiMAX Broadband Wireless System based on Intel IXP425.In the 1st chapter of this dissertation, mainly introduces the Network Processor technology, the architecture both on software and hardware, and the software development environment.In the 2nd chapter, specifies the concept, classification and the key technologies of FireWall.In the 3 rd chapter, first describes the hardware platform of the NeTrust Giga bits FireWall System, then illustrates the whole software architecture design and all the function modules on data panel, control panel and management panel.In the 4th chapter, specifies the whole design of Flow Module on Control panel and the implementation of the three submodules of Flow table initiation, Flow table management and Messages processing in detail.In the 5 th chapter, describes the testing, testing results analyse and experience gains during testing.The last chapter, introduces the implementation of MAC moule on WiMAX Broadband System based on Intel IXP425 briefly, which...
