It is studied that a design of hardware system part employed on the implementation of people tracking system on the basis of RFID in this essay . Such people tracking system aims at specific needs on different conditions. It employs the advanced RFID wireless radio-frequency technology and recently popular data communication, data analysis and geographic information system technologies with the combination of server on hardware system of database and client, which could real-timely detect the position of the workers and equipments and count the number and distribution of them. Moreover, it is able to monitor the working status of RFID reader machine. Later, it would report on the people who break into limited area or the failure of communication on the card reader. Then it could inquiry and recreates the trails of motion about any staff in allocated time. Besides, it could inquiry the position of all staffs in any moment.The hardware part of this system includes personnel wireless tracking card (RFID card), tracking card reader, the repeater and tracking mastercontroller. Every personnel and important equipments should be outfit with wireless cards. Furthermore, RFID card readers must be located from space to space in positioning regions of the working face. RFID cards transmit the wireless signals representing the identity features. Once the cards readers receive these radio-frequency signals in order to convey them to corresponded repeaters, the signals will transfer to optical fiber transmission signals. Finally, by a ground master controller, they would be transferred to serial communication signals that would be delivered to data receiving server.At the very beginning, the essay addresses the background and purpose of raising this issue and the targeting technological index and requirement of this system. Secondly, the basic knowledge of RFID technique shall be introduced. The third chapter is focused on the exposition of working principles and software and hardware designs on four parts consisted of personnel wireless tracking card, personnel tracking card reader, personnel tracking repeater and personnel tracking mastercontroller. Lately, the fourth chapter will make a detailed theoretical analysis on the systemic problems and related resolution plans. The last but not the least, the fifth chapter mainly displays the testing result of hardware of the system and the last chapter makes feasibility studies of this system application. Most importantly, certain limitations are listed in this chapter.
