As a new sort of interactive multimedia service based on IP network, IPTV service not only provides new bright spot for broadband network of conventional telecommunication operators and improves competition ability in the service but also seizes the immediate opportunities in the future convergence of the three networks. Compared with internet service which provides best-effort services, IPTV service requires that not only the bearing platform should be manageable but also its quality should be assured and is strictly with indices such as bandwidth, time-delay, jitter and so on. If the existing network bears the IPTV operation, it must be improved effectively. In this dissertation, further study on the improvement plan of bearing network and its feasibility is carried out on the basis of IPTV service of Ji'nan CNC.In the first chapter, the current status and development trends of IPTV service at home and abroad are reviewed. Domestic traditional telecom operators developing IPTV service based on current network has realistic and long-term interests. Research objectives of carrying IPTV service based on the existing broadband IP MAN of Ji'nan CNC are put forward aiming at IPTV business demands and technical bottlenecks existing in the current networks of traditional telecom operators.In the second chapter, relevant background knowledge which covers structures of IPTV system, IPTV business and its characteristics, domestic and international standards and so on is introduced.In the third chapter, related knowledge including IPTV bearing network, content distribution networks and multicast technologies is described in detail.In the fourth chapter, technical requirements of IPTV service for bearing network are firstly analyzed. Then, three modes of multicast and two ways of user authentication are analyzed and compared. Finally, a QoS-Guaranteed scheme based on the present network is proposed. In the fifth chapter, the feasible implementation scheme of network is put forward by measuring traffic flow of the core layer, convergence layer and access layer equipment of the existing broadband IP MAN and combining equipment capacity and experimental data as well as synthetically analyzing the scheme in Chapter four.In this dissertation, technical requirements of IPTV service for broadband IP MAN in terms of bandwidth, QoS, multicast, authentication and so on are analyzed from angle of actual IPTV service operation. Advantages and disadvantages of every kind of constructing ways are analyzed and summarized from various perspectives. Reconstructive experimental scheme is established and put into practice by analyzing measured traffic flow data of the core layer, convergence layer and access layer of the existing broadband IP MAN and equipment capacity. The network bearing IPTV service is realized and the system of trial operation is successful. The improved experiment on the IPTV bearing network of Ji'nan CNC offers certain value for reference and guidance on the future large-scale commercial operation.
