With the improvement of people's living standard,the need for high-quality multi-function FPD(flat panel display)products is keeping increasing,and the application realm is keeping expanding to commercial,public,home theatre,etc.. To meet this need in both overseas and domestic markets,it is necessary to develop a FPD chassis platform.In this thesis,the design of a FPD chassis platform based on PW318C is introduced from the application point of view.This platform features;2 AV inputs,2 S-Video inputs,2 HDTV inputs,1 VGA input and 2 TV inputs.Also,PIP/POP/DW functions is available.Considering global market and develop efficiency,a mono-board integration design is adopted which expedites the project greatly.In this thesis,a FPD chassis platform based on video processor PW318C is developed and designed,and the relevant key technical problems are discussed. The thesis consists of 4 parts.In part 1,some key techniques in video signal processing,video format conversion,3D recursive motion estimation algorithm, and bus architecture platform,are studied.In part 2,the hardware system design based on PW318C is put forward,circuit diagram of basic blocks are introduced, and key component selection under the system requirement is put up.In part 3, detailed design of system hardware including power supply,PCB and EMI issues is given.In part 4,the testing and experiments result for the system are illustrated. In the process of development,hardware modules are debugged using RS232 interface,so that development efficiency is improved.In this thesis,thermal design,anti-interference design,power-off timing design are elucidated, especially the original design of off-mute circuit.The problems and solutions are analyzed in detail.Summary is made at the end of the thesis and the further research direction is proposed.
