Base on the quickly development and broad application of computer science. Information Technology is more and more important for corporation.More and more transaction of business are transfered to information technology infrastructura.The data in the system increased to explosure.The need for usability,security and share of data is incessant improvement.These needs drive the present of storage network technology.Data was the core of the coporation that is the most important value asset.Now,protect data to keep it usability,integrality and security was where the shoe pinches for coporation live or die.So,storage data not only the role of attached equipment of computer,but exist at absolute network system.Storage area network is the most important technology of all.It is a private network between server and external storage resource,carry out the high speed,credibility access.Every storage equipment does not belong to any one server in SAN,but all storage equipment are opposite shared with all servers.The paper summarize the storage area network theory and correlative technology.Point out the important of storage, trend of the storage network and the problem.Compare and analyse the common tech at present:DAS(direct attached storage),NAS(network attached storage),SAN(storage area network).Then explain the most important tech-SAN.Analyse the basic structure and mechanism: Fibre channel resolution,Fibre channel structure,Raid(Redundant Array of Independent Disks) model and choice,Lun(logical unit number) mechanism and realization,performance by cache.To resolve the requirement problem under corporation information basic infrastructura.Analyse the instance and resolve the problem.Base on SAN of Daping hospital,integrate the demand of hospital and plan in future,analyse and plan the design goal and whole structure,give the choice method and layout for the logic unit of SAN framework:SAN storage module(storage array),san connection module(storage fibre channel switch),SAN host module(Host Bus Adapter on host)and SAN management module(software).Combined the project-Daping hospital practice,implement the function and application on every logic subsystem.All subsystem work well together.Builded the storage area network on customer site,achieve the goal finally.At last,summarize the SAN instance in the hospital and expectation.
