For the purpose of realizing large-scale and high quality monitoring, conforming to the monitoring system trend of digitization, service diversification, function integration, and modularization, OB telecom Ltd. put forward a new system which named "VAR multi-services optical transmission and switching integrated network", one of the key technology is high quality switching for real time data. Based on the VAR platform, the author studied various key technologies of current high speed switch system, and realized the design method.The main works of this paper:Firstly, characteristic of overall share memory structure and the parallel structure are studied, a new method of partly share memory structure which partake four output ports is carried out. This method have reduced the complexity of system and speeded up the process.Secondly, structure design and space assignment technologies of memory are studied in one sub-part share memory, and then based on the characteristics of VAR data frame and the hardware resource structure, lower interleaved technology is adopted in the high speed memory design, which can work in production line way.Thirdly, Output Queuing scheduler algorithm includes the output port selection and priority selection. Ordinary Round Robin and Weighted Round Robin algorithm are put forward to guarantee the service quality of real time data and the equality at the same time.Finally, hardware scheme and function block diagram design of the switching card are realized. During the description of signal flow, VHDL realization and simulations of every related function module are provided.
