With the development of computer and communication , especially the rapid development of Internet , management of laboratory has improved . The old management is out of date . People use computer to collect, analyze and handle data, and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS ) has come into being .Firstly , this thesis introduces the background,object and meaning of the project . Secondly , it discusses the actuality of LIMS and involves theoretic and technical discussions of research .using uml to design and analysis the system . Finally,it introduces the realization of LIMS . The main points are as followings :1. LIMS adopt a 3-tier architecture of dynamic web application system , which has used database . It' s a Brower / Web Server / Database Server based on 3-tier Brower / Server architecture . Data can store in different operation system . This system has many advantages , such as security , reliability , expansibility , easiness for use and maintenance .2. According with regulations constituted by laboratory, taking present and future demands into account, based on business analyze , the system uses Windows 2003 Server for network operation system , SQL Server 2000 for Relational Database Management System, TOMCAT 5.5 for Web Server.3. Analysis and Implementation of System is developed based on analysis of operation flow , which realized computerized Laboratory. The user-friendly interface is good-looking, intuitionistic, simple and convenience for operation .
