CAN has many advantages, so it has become one of the most used Field buses. The paper takes the development of CAN simulation system as its goal and has made many steps as follows.Firstly, the paper introduces the general development of CAN and general design for the CAN simulation system, which includes the demands for the system and structure design, the functions of every module, the realization methods and the ways to contact and so on. Then the paper makes the study on structure characteristics and correspondence principles in detail.Next the paper sets up Mathematical Model for CAN. It firstly brings in the basic structure of the Physical Layer of CAN, sets up the respective Mathematical Model for CAN Transceiver and wire on basis of their structure characteristics and sets up Mathematical Model of Physical Layer on basis of the structure characteristics of CAN Physical Layer, CAN Transceiver Model and Wire Model.Thirdly, the paper sets up Mathematical Models for CAN Data Link Layer and Application Layer. It brings forward the methods for setting up modules on the theory on Finite State Machine, describes the methods of setting up Data Link Layer Module through the UML and sets up the Mathematical Model for Application Layer on the basis of its characteristic.Lastly, the paper introduces the development methods for simulation system and the ways to realize simulation functions in detail; it also makes the simulation studies of some representative net structures.
