It is a trend that IP technology applies to SDH networks today, so replacing OSI protocol stack or private protocol stack by IP stack in SDH ECC protocol is the most important aim of IP over DCC technology which has been put forward recently. And what will be discussed in this paper are the key technologies' analysis, design and implement of IP-based ECC Protocol of SDH. The mainly referenced standard is ITU-T G.7712 (03/2003).The physical layer of IP-based ECC Protocol of SDH is DCC layer, and how to design a flexible and configurable DCC layer is one of the key technologies in this project. This paper analyzes the requirements of DCC layer, and describes the three layers' hardware structure which is desighned according to the requirements. And I give the functions and designs of every part of DCC layer software in this paper.The data link layer includes PPP and IEEE 802.3 protocol in this project. The IEEE 802.3 protocol runs on OS interface, and because its driver software is based on CPM of MPC860 CPU, it's easy to implement. On the other hand, PPP is built on DCC.DCC structure is so especially that it can't report "down" and "up" event to PPP, so I detail how to modify the finite-state automation of PPP to solve this problem. In this project we have some particular demands: first we need to configure PPP interface IP address automatic, for which I make some changes in link management software and apply unnumbered IP technology to the protocol stack; second we ask PPP module to switch PPP link as fast as possible when two NE have more than two PPP links and one of these links has down, which I introduce in chapter 5. To support independence between the network protocol layer and the data link layer, I design a link management module decouples the network driver and network protocol layers and manage registry of interface.This paper systemically analyzes physical layer and data link layer of IP over DCC stack, details the design and implement, and provides the result of experiment.
