With the increasing grade of family information, the concept of "Digital Home" has conceived. residential gateway equipment (Residential Gate-way, RG), which lies at the core of Digital Home architecture, bridges the Home Networking with external networks, and it is also the key feature of Home Networking operations and applications.MoIP Gateway, as an implementation of RG equipment, is based on the technology of MoIP (Multimedia over IP). To support various applications, as IP Sharing, Firewall, VoIP Residential Gateway, Video Conference, Family AV Center, etc, MoIP Gateway has many QoS issues, which could affect the product quality or application prospect, So it is necessary to research QoS technologies for the MoIP Gateway applications.At first, MoIP Gateway technologies, its major application scenes and an analysis of existing QoS problems are presented. Considering the specific QoS requirements, the main QoS technologies are investigated. Through the analysis of the existing QoS technologies, the scheme of MoIP QoS is chosen.At first, MoIP Gateway technologies, its major application scenes and an analysis of existing QoS problems are presented. Through the analysis of the existing QoS technologies, the scheme of MoIP QoS is chosen, which contains RTP group packages algorithms, interlace transmission, FEC control, and congestion control. Meanwhile, in order to solve the multi-service data transmission issues in home networking, multi-level priority packets transmission and classification mechanism is adopted. In the system implementation, a new mechanism based on RTP/SIP feedback congestion control model and packet classification methods based on Application Layer Gateway (ALG) technologies are proposed.This scheme is now adopted by MoIP Gateway prototype system. Through the system testing and practice, it shows that, an acceptable audio-video quality is reached. And it could be used by similar systems for reference.
