Slip-ring, a kind of electrical and mechanical installations, is used for power transfer and information transmission among mechanical structure which has relative rotational movement. It is widely applied in these areas, such as, Gyroscopes, Potentiometers, Radio Astronomy Telescope, Gun Control System, Rotary Radar Antenna. Its main specifications include Contact Resistance, Insulation Resistance, -Voltage strength, Phase Characteristics, and so on. These specifications are usually measured with traditional method, that needs Oscilloscope, Ohm Table, and other apparatus. When the experiment begins, each channel will be measured one by one, which is a waste of time. This paper studies Slip-ring Automatic Test System that is suitable for Radar Online Test, and establishes hardware and software model which can measure Contact Resistance, Insulation Resistance, -Voltage strength, Phase Characteristics and other parameters. This system can improve test efficiency, avoid measurement error that is because of the subjectivity and the fatigue. Through desigmng SO road channels, choosing instrumentation, designing communication between instrumentation and PC, programming test software, 4 kinds of data of slip-ring with 50 road channels were successfully acquainted by this system, and then experimenting to test the stability and high efficiency of this system.
