With the development of society and the demands of people constantly improving, people are no longer satisfied at a fixed location access the Internet, people want to access the Internet at any time and will not be interrupted in the existing connections. Mobile IP technology is generated to adapt to this demand. There are two key technologies in mobile IP: Fast Mobile IP technology and Hierarchical Mobile IP technology. A new network entity: MAP( Mobility Anchor Point) is introduced in Hierarchical Mobile IP. It is a router which located in the foreign network where the mobile node is visited. MAP's role is similar to a home agent that located in the foreign network. This dissertation firstly introduces the basic knowledge of mobile IPv4 and mobile IPv6 as well as the distinction of them. Then the concept of hierarchical mobile IP is introduced. For the hierarchical mobile IPv6, when demand for mobile and mobile scope is increasing, MAP select under the existing tree framework will face bottlenecks and robustness at the high-level MAP. To solve this problem, a new network framework: integration of tree and hierarchical architecture is brought forward. The framework aims to decrease the request accumulation owning to mobile nodes' frequency and large-scale's movement. Router select algorithms are given for each structure and the performance of the algorithm is analyzed. In the end, the dissertation demonstrates the conclusion that this new network framework could be applied to a variety of network sizes, and has a very broad range of uses. |
