In recent years, the development of communication technology has promoted the mobile communications business growing rapidly. The size of mobile network kept on expanding, the number of base stations multiplied growth, the corresponding maintenance workload and difficulty was increasing continuously. The current base station equipment is monitoring by key point. It needs to be improved since it has defects such as the alarm information contains a small amount of data, less function, low accuracy, a large quantity of maintenance and has been unable to meet the work and production needs. Response to these questions, this paper proposes the establishment of base stations maintenance remote monitoring system program. The program is based on the actual situation which is a large number of base stations and widely distributed, by using remote monitoring technology, relying on the existing transmission network, combine equipment maintenance and remote monitoring into an organic whole and gets alarm accurate, timely control, data integrity, and maintenance convenient purposes.Remote monitoring is the monitoring and manipulating of remote system from local computer through the network, to accomplish the condition monitoring of a scattered-controlled network and its equipments'diagnostic. The remote monitoring system usually refers to the communication Medias, computer software or hardware systems that are able to achieve the goal of remote monitoring. The maintenance staff can use this kind of system to perform test, sampling and necessary pretreatments on all kinds of simulation or numerical quantity produced during the production process. The output can either be printed out or displayed on a screen to provide production personnel detailed data to help them analyze and get to know the production situation. The real-time data from the tests, as well as the commands and input signal from production personnel during production can also go through analysis, conclusion, organization, calculation or other secondary process by the remote monitoring system to be stored as real-time data and historical data. The remote monitoring system can also do analysis, diagnostics and danger forecast on the production using available data, graph and report forms; it can send out alarms on failures and emergencies in the form of sound, light or electronic signals; it's also able to refine the information in addition to the test performed and form command output which will directly act on the production process based on pre-decided control strategies.This design first proposed in Liaoning Province mobile system to combine production control and monitoring technology which could improve the quality of maintenance and at the same time reduce the workload of the maintenance staff. It not only has great significance for the enterprises to reduce production costs and increase labor productivity, improve production management skills and enhance their IMIS competitive strength, but also gives a new way of thinking and development direction for the company's network maintenance.Base Station Remote Maintenance Monitoring System contains city Centralized Monitoring Center(LSC)and Base Station Monitoring Uni(tSU). Base station monitoring unit also includes base station monitor, RS232 serial protocol converter, video surveillance equipment, air-conditioning controller module, regulators monitoring module, Switch Power control module and etc.System designed main functions:1. Remote maintenance and monitoring functionsMonitoring Center(LSC)can demonstrate the state of work and operating parameters of all those it is monitoring and perform corresponding operation. Base Station Monitoring Unit has and connects with the base station equipment with intelligent interface. The software can display interface.2. Alarm managementIt can complement the recording and query function of Alarm setup, warning alarm, warning notification and record data and query functions.3. Configuration information management functionsUsing a combination of configuration information and text and it can conducted remote information updates and mainten- ance at the center.4. Security managementIt has a strict dividing of authority management and the operator interface.5. Statements management functionsIt can customizedly generate and output statistical information, data reporting, and measurement curves with tools software provided by remote maintenance monitoring system.6. Graphics and Images functionsSystems can simultaneously observe and switch lot of images. It can also control and adjust the remote base stations, and image interacts with alarm functions when certain warning signals, automatically switching video for surveillance or storage.When the system was trial in Shenyang mobile base stations, it acquired alarm information more convenient and accurate, handled fault and maintain equipment more rapidly and smoothly. So it saves labor costs and network maintenance expenses and has become an indispensable and useful tool for production management. The next step, the company plans to disseminate the results to maintain the base station system. It has been declared in the province after the demonstration in the province to promote the application. The prospects are very bright.
