Digital Books Reading Technology

This paper introduced some basic conceptions of a digital library, itsdeveloping situation and some basic technique concerned with a digital library. Andit showed that the digital books reader plays an important part in a digital library asthe interface between a digital library and a user.The paper mainly focused on the web service of a digital library and some of itskey techniques. These techniques include the metadata criterion and metadatacoding rule used in a library, the definition, classification, storage and transmissionof the digital object, And it also includes how a digital book names and stores in thedigital library as a digital object and how XML technique are used to encapsulate thedata of a digital object and as the uses of the date in a digital library.Finally, the paper analyzed the user's requirement using the Object Orientedtechnique and the program with the Object Oriented Program Language in order toreach the functions of a digital book reader.
