With the improvement of standard of living, the high quality domestic ceramic should be the mainstream of domestic consumption. Ceramic industry in our country required high speed, high precision, automation and online inspection on its products and also on ceramic products. In these applications, part of them formerly depended upon the massive workers to complete, which not just increased the manpower cost and the management cost, at the same time because the human eye was easy to be weary. So it was unable to guarantee examination qualified rate 100%.Along with the modern industrial automation's development, the technology of inspection, recognition and control which based on the video image have been developed, too. The production and the application of the new technology, enormously liberated the human labor power and improved the standard of living. It also proved the extremely broad prospect of those new technology.Combining the embedded system technology and image process technology, implemented real-time image capture and display these image on the LCD .In these process, also using pattern recognition technology to get the edge of the roundness. Then using the edge value to calculate the roundness and display the result. The process implemented a method of industrial non-contact type inspection. In the implement part, hardware was based on ARM $3c2410, Redhat9.0 and Qt/embedded were adopted as the software platform. Software implemented the camera image capture, image display, image processing, result display .The experimental results had indicates the feasibility and accuracy for the inspection system. And it had achieved the anticipated request, has very great practical value.
