Waterflood is often adopted as an effective measure in maintaining pressure on the layer, raising oil recovery and guaranteeing the stable and high yield of the oil field. Recycling sewage should not be recycled into the layer until it is monitored and reaches the standard target. This thesis is aimed at the study on the oil content of recycling sewage to be monitored on-line. With the techniques of optics microscope and the computer image processing, together with correlative digital image processing such as image enhancement and segmentation and pattern recognition methods such as feature selection and classification, the microscopic image of recycling sewage is analyzed and processed from a microscopic angle, and the histograms of the oil content as well as of distribution of oil drop diameter are drawn. A set of microscopic equipment is developed, which can observe and monitor the condition of the oil drop of the recycling sewage, and moreover the correlative computer image processing software is compiled. After the image of recycling sewage by a long working distance is obtained by the microscopic equipment, the histograms of the oil content and of distribution of oil drop diameter can be drawn with the software. The data from the research in the laboratory shows that the research method is feasible in the application of measuring the oil content of recycling sewage and the test result is precise.
