The purpose of this study is to make a board which is based on USB bus.The board include mainly two components:controller and gathering data.The controller is used to make step electromotor run under instruction of microcomputer and the gatherring data detect the circumstance temperature,pressure and so on.In the days,the step electromotor is applied widely so the control boards are needed badly.but, At the present time, the boards are by and large based on PCI or ISA interface of computer,so the command for running or stop must be through PCI or ISA port.This will make some troubles:slowly speed,frequent opening the main box,difficult inserting and pulling etc.In a word,it will make the user despondent. And,these boards have no function to capture data.in order to resolve this problem and let users operate expediently ,I put forward a project:make a control board which is based USB interface and can capture data.The USB interface has many virtues comparing to PCI or ISA interface:insert and pull very easily,the speed arrives 480M/s at the highest,convenient taking etc.It almost has none of shortcomings. USB becomes popular day by day. This reaserch come into question and accord with trends of development of control board.My research consist of three parts:the using of USB interface,It is to say computer communicate with single-chip microcomputer through USB interface;driving electromotor;the collection of datas from surroundings.In the whole paper,the first part is the most important.The application of USB interface in controlling electromotor is a innovation.this part tells how to select suitable USB interface chip and how computer send or receive commands to or from single-chip microcomputer.The key work is to pick a right USB interface chip.It will decide next works.there are all kinds of USB interface in electronic markets.We pick out the chip CH372,which is saled by NanJing QinHeng electronic corporation.the user can easily use this chip and needn't write driving program because of its virtues.The second part is about how to drive the electromotor.We link a chip-intel8253 to the single-chip microcomputer,then the chip send signals needed by electromotor when it receive the instructions from single-chip microcomputer. In this part,the significant thing is how to control 8253 and let it produce appropriate signals which will make the electromotor run forward or backward or stop.The third part is about gathering data from environment.when condition including pressure and temperature and humidity change,the computer will receive report from this part.According to this sequence,my thesis have five chapter:the first is introduction;The second is the design of USB interface;The third is the controlling of step electromotor;The fourth is realization of gathering data;The fifth is conclusion.
