China is the largest agriculture country It solves the food problem of twenty-two percent population with seven percent cultivate land of the world, but the contradiction between the increasing of population and decreasing of cultivate land, especially the world economics and social development is in a new period. In order to satisfy the development of economy and improve the level of people's life, the agriculture must develop persistently. At present, the emphasis is to find efficient agriculture and apply the new technology to agriculture. With the development of computer technology and information, modem agriculture takes the place of tradition agriculture in production fashion. This paper introduces a utility data gathering system of agriculture environment messages. It gets the data of temperature, humidity, illumination and rainfall by I/O interface, timer and external interruption. The system consists of portable measuring instrument of environment parameters, data memory instrument and data management system. It uses AT89C51 single chip processor as the core. Portable measuring instrument uses advanced sensor technology, automatic measurement technology, communication technology and microcomputer technology to gather temperature, humidity, light intensity and rainfall (reserved). It contains such modules as data gathering, data memory, keyboard scanning, displaying output and communication module. It can gather, reserve, display, and scan the data at several time Data memory instrument can transfer the data from several portable measuring instruments to computer. Data management system can output look up statistic and print the data. It has the strong anti-disturbing capability, reliability and convenient for the data transmitting in long distance, because the system has the digital sensors. It is convenient to operate and high in the ratio of performance to price, so it has highly utility.
