The dehydration of crude oil is a necessary procedure in the oil production. Different methods of dehydration are utilized considering the component of crude oil in different places, and electric dehydration is one of the most universal methods in nowadays. High electric field is built in the crude oil containing water, and the fallout velocity of water accelerates because of the electric force and hence oil and water are separated.This project is being researched under the circumstance of the great need of mini type electric dehydration highly automated in oil field. In this thesis, an electric dehydration system controlled by MCU is developed. The following research work has been carried out:Firstly, different electric dehydration methods are introduced, especially the recently development at home and abroad, then the physic characteristic of crude oil and its emulsion are represented; also, the dehydration principle is introduced with great emphasis.Secondly, the hardware of electric dehydration system is designed utilizing power electronics, modern control techniques and MCU. This system can work at both high DC voltage and high AC voltage. It has the function such as automatic voltage regulation, automatic temperature control, over current protection and over voltage protection.Thirdly, the virtual interface is designed, and it can display the variation curve of electric parameters of the crude oil during the dehydration, also, it can save and analyze the experiment data, which makes the dehydration research much more convenient.At last, dehydration experiments are carried out under the circumstances of high DC voltage and high AC voltage. The experiment results are analyzed and compared; it proves that this electric dehydration system can be applied to the scientific research in the future.
