Data warehouse is a kind of language which can storage the consistent data, it provides architectures and tools for business executives to systematically organize, understand, and use their data to make strategic decision.The thesis shows that how to design and implement the distributed data warehouse system about the Environment Protection Bureau, and the query process of the data warehouse. GMDJ (General Multi-Dimensional Join) technology has been introduced to MIS (Management Information System) field.First, the thesis introduces the knowledge of data warehouse and the on line analytical process, and then elaborates how to design cube model in the data warehouse of Environment Protection Bureau. Aiming at the requirement of analyzing testing index of atmosphere, this thesis constructs a data cube model of the Atmosphere Analysis System. Finally the application of GMDJ technology in the Atmosphere Analysis System of Harbin Environment Protection Bureau is discussed in the thesis. Using GMDJ, the thesis solves the practical problems of OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) queries and expression of data cube. The thesis illustrates how to express the OLAP queries using GMDJ, succinctly expresses complex OLAP queries using algebraically expressions, which improves the respondent speed of queries, and optimizes the performance of the system.The thesis summarizes ways and steps of DW design as well as its process-realizing in order to make DW up to anticipant standard. Thus effective storage and management of data can be realized and OLAP can be supported. Though building the data warehouse can provide the resource for the online analytical process.The online analytical subsystem is based on cube models, its task is to build the cube and analytical the multi-dimensional data. In order to generate the results of queries to customer, the thesis implements an integrated system for queries, which shows results intuitively and convenience. The integrated system includes query engine, proves the availability and feasibility of integrated query technique based on GMDJ in distributed data warehouse,and analyses emulate results.The research above consummates and complements primary system, has application value, and has achieved the design goals.
