Research On Partners Selection Support System Of Virtual Enterprise Based On Data Mining

With the wide application of advanced information and internet technology, Virtual enterprise has recently become an effective method of optimally integrating outer resources based on core competencies, and then this type of organization is widely adopted for several enterprises to establish their new corporation mechanisms. Therefore, how to quickly get more suitable partners for establishing a virtual enterprise with low cost and risks is an important issue during the life cycle of a virtual enterprise. It is one of the determinants for the virtual enterprise operating successfully, which needs to solve with inportance. Up to now, many literatures have conducted research on this problem, but there are some deficiencies in the indices systems and corresponding evaluation method proposed by these literatures for the effects of subjective factors when choosing the indices and methods. On the other hand, during the process of choosing partners, the initiator always can not obtain the internal data of potential partners and hardly tackle large amounts of data to extract more useful information, while hardly collecte data to get accurent information. In order to solve these questions, this paper aims at studying and developing a decision support system of effectively choosing better partners for the initiator based on data mining during partner chosen. The data warehouse in the decision support system is used to provide basic data for further mining; model base stores the different models (fuzzy set model was used in the paper) for tackling data, abstracting a set of evaluation indices, and finally finding more appropriate partners, the support system supplies effective and whole method for initiator selecting Optimum partners of virtual enterprise.The paper firstly gives an interview on the theories and methods of virtual enterprise, data mining and decision support system, and sums up some shortcomings of the existing theory on choosing partners. Then, the paper proposes a new thought of incorporating data mining into partners choose process to make up for the shortcomings of traditional method. During system analysising and designing, it considers new achievement of computer technology devolopment, focuses on the study of the general framework and main functions of decision support system. Based on the general framework, the paper designs dataware system and respectively provides the details of data warehouse and structure of model base, as well as concerns on knowledge base in next sections.The paper finally examines an empirical case about how to choosing partners for Metersbonwe to establish a virtual enterprise. The result given by the system is mostly compatible with the requirement of the group company, which demonstrates that the system satisfies the design aims, realizes design goal and can be applied in practice effectively.
