The human society is entering the time which the image takes win. As a social organization, the university is not also exceptional. The university's image is the overall impression and the overall appraisal of social public. The quality of the image affects significantly to the university, and relates the survival and the development of the university. The good image is the university's huge intangible asset and the precious spiritual wealth, which that manifesting the university's strength and comprehensive quality. The creation of the university's image is effective way which to copes with market tendency of teaching and the steep competition after joined WTO. It has the extremely vital significance to the university's own and the entire social development. So the mass media make a lot of influence to the creation of the university's image.At present, the creation of the university's image already had become a important research topic. See from the material the author searched, the articles which related the creation of university's image is not rare, but the most articles located is the university's image molding, and neglected the effect of the mass media. Even if some researchers mentioned the vital role which the mass media portrays the university's image in the articles, also is very few words, and only regarding the mass media as an auxiliary method. The innovation place of this article is which regarding the mass media as a vital role to the creation of the university's image. The author believed that, the present era is the information age, also is the time of the mass media dissemination, under such background, the mass media has the incomparably formidable strength. May not exaggerate said that, the mass media has great influence to all behaviors in this society .Therefore, the author emphatically studies in this paper is the influence which the mass media to the university-image's creation, and pondered how the mass media created the university's image. Finally proposed the mass media and university oneself all playing vital role in the creation of the university's image. The two should work hard together, affect together, promoted university's image better development.This paper divides into three bulks. First is the introduction part. Main introduced research question's origin, domestic present research situation and correlated literature summary. Meets down is the article main body, and divides into five parts. The first part analyzed the relation between the mass media and the creation of the university's image. This part of content mainly includes the concepts of the mass media and the creation of the university image, and analyzed the relation between the two and so on. The second part is about the content what the mass media created the university's image. The key point of this party is the analysis how the mass media molded the image of teachers and students of university. The third part analyzed the influence which mass media to the creation of the university's image, including positive influence and negative influence. The fourth part portrays is how the mass media molded the good university's image, including principle, strategy and method. The fifth part is about the university's own strategy.Finally is conclusion part. Above all, the mass media has great effect in the creation of the university's image. The creation of the university's image is not completed by university own, it must be able to realize by way of the mass media. The mass media is not merely the assistance method, it participated in the entire procession of the creation of the university's image. It can be said that, in the modern information society, does not have the mass media, is unable form the widespread effective university's image in the public mind.
