With the high speed development of Semiconductor industry, Flash memory a new rising device replaces the role of ROM/EPROM/EEPROM gradually by the trait of Non-volatility, high density and low cost etc. Especially the Serial Flash, which have more wide usage area because of less data/address pins and lean peripheral structure. But because of the inherent physical structure, it only can be operated by Block as minimum unit to perform erase or overwrite the data. Block or chip erase is to change bits to 1. Normally, the memory is separated into several blocks to be manipulated. And also, 0.1-1 million read/write lifecycles is the characteristic of Flash. These are the difference of other memory devices. So, in terms of these Flash features, some study and reflection was performed on the design of the application interface of Serial Flash used at data storage area and data management. Also, in terms of the actual problems of Flash that customer/manufacturer encountered, a diagnose /debug kit focusing on the M25 series Serial Flash was developed also which is based on the platform of LabWindows/CVI. It is proved to be friendly and effective.
