With the development of living broadcast satellite, digitization of Cable TVnetworks, Internet as well as wireless technology, various technical methods fornetwork-based education are provided. However, the traditional methods can'tcarry out the composition of broadcast, group-broadcast and sole-broadcaston the sole network. Thus it is difficult to pledge the effect of the remoteeducation. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a new technologypattern for the interaction-supported living broadcast remote education systemwhich mixes with Cable TV networks and Internet.The article firstly surveys the development and application situation of CableTV network and the Internet, and then makes a comprehensive comparisonbetween the two kinds of networks. The authors then analyze the advantages andfeasibility of mixing the Cable TV networks and Internet.Secondly, the article gives a systematical analysis on the new pattern of theremote education, which operates on the mixed networks and proposes the livingbroadcast remote education pattern with interaction-supported. To support thispattern, we make research on several key technologies such as IP over DVB, isochroous transmission of encode and decode mixed with audio video and date,the reliable multicast as well as conditional access. In the meantime, theimplementation of the whole system is designed developed and integrated.Besides, the paper introduces the applied situation of this living broadcastremote education pattern in the Zhejiang Province countryside party membercadre modern remote education system. The system widely used has alreadybeen set up more than ten thousand village-level terminal receiving stations. Asthe system provides widespread, economical and effective remote educationservices, it has received appreciations from both the experts and the end-users.Finally, the authors give a prospect of the technical pattern as well as theapplication and development based on those essential technologies in thenetwork fusion environment. We believe it can be further extended to the mediastream digital television, the videoconference system, and the family mediaentertainment center. Definitely it has a broad prospect in both the education andthe media service field.
