As the high-bandwidth business such as IPTV, interactive games, e-business, e-learning is emerging, xDSL, CableModem, EoC become the bottle-neck for the development of BIDSN (Broadband Integrated Service Digital Network). In order to meet the access bandwidth requirements, FTTH (Fiber To The Home) becomes the principal solution to high bandwidth, large capacity and low cost access.This paper first describes the concept of access network, presents major strengths of FTTH, and concludes that FTTH will inevitably be the next generation of broadband access standard. The second part of this paper introduces the development of FTTH, compares major technical characteristics and solutions of P2P and PON and concludes the practical value for P2P. Then an introduction of the structure and function of FTTH-P2P equipment is given. The third part is the main part of this paper. It introduces the implementation of the Ethernet Convergencing Card for FTTH-P2P project and gives emphasis on the specific tips of making circuits. The fourth part describes how to debug the card, and presents a whole set theory for debugging.
