The IEEE 802.16e protocol standard proposed by the IEEE 802.16 task force is an extended scheme which is based on the IEEE 802.16d protocol standard. It supports mobile terminal of the low speed in the frequency segment that is from two to six GHz, and provides service of high speed data and a mobile solved scheme of broadband wireless access. The standard defines the MAC layer and technical criterion of the physics layer. In the MAC layer, the service flow is divided into five different types: UGS, ErtPS, rtPS, nrtPS, BE. The five scheduling processes are particularly explained by the standard, but scheduling algorithm is not discussed. So the scheduling algorithm is worth of studying furtherly. Because scheduling algorithm directly influences the usage of system resource of throughput.The paper mainly discusses the development designing and the realization of the 802.16e simulation platform, and also discusses scheduling algorithm used in the realization of simulation platform.The IEEE 802.16e simulation platform is designed and developed on the base of detailed analysis to 802.16e WMAN, MAC layer and physics layer. The paper explains particularly many modules and the founction of these modules of simulation platform. Furthermore, it also introduces three kinds of better important processes: initialization and entry internet, service flow management, Hand Over. These three processes are given illustrations.Simultaneity, the paper particularly analyzes three scheduling algorithms: Weighted Round Robin algorithm, MAX C/I algorithm, PF algorithm, and three algorithms obtain system throughputs by using OPNET simulation. Then equity exponent is furtherly obtained by system throughputs. Thus three scheduling algorithms are compared by drawing according to these datas. Then we can know that PF algorithm is the best algorithm of three algorithms. Finally, the paper also introduces particularly the realization process of PF algorithm in the simulation platform.
