Research And Implementation On Security Technology Of Multimedia Sharing Platform

With the rapid developing of multimedia information technology and broadband network, there are more and more multimedia sharing platform such as video sharing platform based on broadband and server, as well as video on demand and download based on P2P. These multimedia sharing platforms facilitate the transmission and sharing multimedia information between network users, but still lots of problems exist in operation especially the copyright problem. Currently the leading solution for this problem is so-called digital rights management (DRM), it is an integration technology consists of content encryption, rights management, authentication and so on.Nowadays there are many organizations works on the researching and customizing of digital rights management, and the most applicable solution among them is Microsoft Windows Media Rights Manager. The author of this paper did a lot of research on this technology, then designed and partly implemented a security system for multimedia sharing platform. The system integrate digital rights management with strong authentication, it is flexible, extendible and easy to deploy.The main contributions of this paper are as follows:1. The secure system get rid of the limits on transmission mode by directly encrypts the multimedia files, so that no matter where these files published on, this system can still manage the rights through network.2. The usage of strong authentication technology strictly control the access of user and protect the user's rights, and the content encryption protects the content from pirating, thus buildup a highly secure system.3. With the package client, any consumer can be content provider, this design increase the interaction and feasibility of the whole system, with more concern on the rights protection of content provider and consumer.At last this paper ends with implementation results and analysis, which improves the feasibility and applicability of this design and explores the extended application of digital rights management.
