Color Call (CC) is a feature customized by the called subscriber to enable both the calling subscriber and the called one to hear a preconcerted music which create a expacted scene while their talking by phone.China Mobile Communications Corporation has applied the CC service since 2003. But it is a unilateral sevice which only applys in waiting for the called subscriber to answer the call. And only the calling one can enjoy its funs, while the paying one not. Then the CC services supply its gap, for its bidirectionality make the two subscribers can both call efficiency and mutually enliven each other.CC service is a novel and completely self-governed service which is apart from the CRBT service. This service can not only supply a great lot of different topic/style music channels for the subscribers to customize, but also supply many background music for the subscribers to complete the personal CC ring depot which the subscribers like more and expresss unique individuality.There was mostly a project designed for CC service, which is based on Intelligent Network (IN), but this project has some problems: excessive signaling flow, longer connecting processing. Therefore, this article carrys out a new project based on Independent Intelligent Peripheral (IIP) which settles these problems commendably. This article also introduces a series of implementation modes from some aspects, for example, function realization, trigger mode, rate model, statistic.In chapter one, it analyses the demands of CC service, introduces its basic service attributions and the Distorted Color Call (DCC) service.In chapter two, it introduces the design based on IN, its signaling flow, and the influence of current networks, finally, it analyses the limitation.In chapter three, it carrys out the design based on IIP, and explains to illuminate it, then describes the its signaling flow, analyses the influence of current networks, finally it compares the both designs, then gains the results.In chapter four, it introduces the implementation based on the experience of exploiture.A prospect of the CC service in the future is described in the last part.
