Taking advantage of the opportunity of digital transformation of television initiated by State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and adopting wideband modulation technology and UCLink based on coaxial cable, the Guangxi Wideband Communication System Project is a wideband access system engineering to be built for developing the wideband internet access and value-added service, NGN voice service, value-added service for combination of wideband with CATV on CATV coaxial cable network built up by State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and has very big market value and significance in terms of "integration of three networks (telecommunications network, radio & television network and computer communication network) into one" and settlement of "last segment of access".Among various wideband access technologies as xDSL, Home PNA, LAN (Ethernet access), Wireless LAN, RF coaxial cable (HFC), the wideband access via RF coaxial cable (HFC) is the technical basis of the application of Wideband Communication System Engineering; the technical conclusion as adoption of UCLINK for Guangxi Wideband Communication System Engineering has been derived through the demonstration of comparison between the two types of HFC access technologies as CMTS and UCLINK.The demonstration has been made in terms of engineering construction scheme, principle for network establishment, the status quo of cable network of State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the distribution network of CATV and target positioning of a housing estate, etc, and the corresponding construction models has been formed in view of different conditions of housing estates; simultaneously the proposals for concrete networks forming, scale of construction and main technical indexes, etc of the project have been described; conditions of application of wideband communication, some cases of troubles during opening of the project and their analysis & solving are being tracked; the new progresses in UClink and other HFC wideband access technologies are being tracked, and comparisons between four types of HFC wideband access technologies have been conducted in terms of product performance, working frequency and application of local office & terminals, etc.Finally, the conclusion of application of UCLink technology in engineering construction scheme has been reached.
