As one of important parts in hydraulic engineering system, the Hydro-Valve is used to regulate the water flow, control downstream water levels, discharge flood and remove sediments and floating materials. With the development of modern electronic technology, it's necessary to develop a highly reliable and remotely controlled Hydro-Valve control system with strong anti-disturbance capability.In this thesis, Firstly the main advanced technologies used in Sluice automatic monitoring system are discussed, included distributed control system (DCS), Filedbus, industrial Ethernet , Programming Logic Controller (PLC) and Single-Chip-Micro Computer. On the analysis studying current situation in progress and the basis summing up controlling relevance technology home and abroad to the sluice gate, we designed this sluice control system. And combined with the advantages of Single-Chip-Micro computer and distributed control system (DCS) is designed on the Sluice automatic monitoring system and the design principle of the system with functional analyzing are brought forward. Secondly the design and application of sluice monitoring and control configuration software and Hardware is introduced. At last by analyzing the method of canal water level and waterflow control. The hardware design mainly had the AT89S52 monolithic integrated circuit periphery electric circuit, the sensor shaping and so on; sofeware design including system software overall flow, data acquisition and communication with the PC computer and so on.The thesis analyzes controlling characteristic of canal water level and waterflow system is nonlinear, time-varying and time-lagging. It is difficult to establish the precise mathematical model. So the traditional control methods can not work but it would be successful to apply fuzzy control strategy in sluice. At the same time, applied software MATLAB is used to simulate the water controller. The output shows that the system is stable and the result is satisfied.
