Being a main branch of micro-computer and by its advantage of its much higher ratio of property to price, the Single-Chip Micro-Computer(SCMC),since it has been invented up to now, has attracted more and more engineers and technicians to pay their attentions to its application field.Nowadays, SCMC is widely applied to the field of intellectual instrument, electric-mechanical equipment, automatically testing, electrical home appliances and data processing, etc. Combined with teaching work of myself, this article introduces the design process of applying SCMC to control the multi-functional signal generator. The aim of the design is by means of applying SCMC to control and generate different kind of signal wave form, such as sine wave form, triangle wave form, square wave form, the teeth of saw wave form and so on. The frequency, amplitude, zero-point of signal generated by generator can be adjust continuously. This system can be used not only in teaching experiments but also as basic archetype in industry test and control. It is very useful in different area in practice. The system is based on Intel8031 SCMC and equips with corresponding outside equipment and interface circuit. It develops by complication language and makes up a multi-function experiment system. The micro-computer communication software of this system can move under DOS and Windows. The hardware designed here is typical. At the same time, each part circuit chip of this system can be transplanted into the design of practical developing system. The design of circuit can be used in deferent practice flexibly. The hardware circuit of the single-chip micro-computer application system concludes two parts: one is system expending—single-chip micro-computer internal part(Such as: ROM, I/O and TIMER/COUNTER interrupt system and etc). If the system expending can not satisfy the requirements of application system, we must extend outside through choosing proper chip and designing proper circuit. The other one is system equipment—according to function requirements equip outside facilities (Such as: keyboard, display, D/A conversion etc). The circuit must be design properly.This system design these interface:Hardwaresmooth voltage that single-chip micro-computer needcapability of 8K bits' storageeight bits LED display3×4 matrix keyboard with 12 keysclock circuit and reposition circuitDAC0832 interfaceFunction of the production of wave and transformation of voltageThis system adopts the mode of self-provided power. Since power voltage of the Intel8031 and many logic IC is +5V,and the system requires the amplitude, zero-point, plus-minus can be adjust during its outputting, we chose three kind of power,±12V,+5V,with the same ground. Depending on the expending and equipment principle of the system, because 8031 Single-chip micro-computer does not have program memory itself, this system utilizes 2764EPROM(8k×8) as program memory. As far as data memory is concerned, even though 8031 single-chip micro-computer has 128-word's RAM memory inside. CPU has very plentiful operation order to internal RAM. But it is far from enough if it only depends on this 128-word data memory. So I need to extend outside data memory at this time. This system need RAM has more stronger capacity. So when you design the system, you should increase the number of the chip as few as you can. Through 16-bits address bus, 8031 single-chip microcomputer can find address for 64k-program memory or 64k data memory separated. The program memory use 8031 single-chip micro-computer's PSEN to contact it, but the data memory use 8031 single-chip micro-computer's and . So the address of data memory and program memory can overlap completely. When single-chip micro-computer uses in measure-control system, there must have be-measured signal import lanes and computer will pick up the necessary import message.
