In the high performance general microprocessor, the memory management part is an extremely important function unit. It may enormous enhance the microprocessor the storage space scope through the virtual storage technology, and enhances the microprocessor's flexibility and the reliability in the memory management aspect. The segmentation is one of most commonly used and most important arithmetic units in the save of management part, it has realized the logical address to the linear address computation on the one hand, and has carried on the storage protection to the entire partition process on the other hand, these two separately aspects has the important influence to the processor speed and the reliability.The paper has carried on the thorough analysis of the overall segmentation structure as well as the function and the structure of various modules, and in the study of work set of instructions foundation, the design has realized a high performance segmentation part; it also uses the correlation verification method, has completed the multi-level simulation and the verification; Finally also in the structure proposed and has realized one kind of improvement design. X microprocessor has been taped out, and it can completely satisfy the request of design. Finally, the result proves that the segmentation are correct.The main work and achievement of this paper includes:The first, it has thoroughly analyzed the segmentation system structure, and deferred to the function to carry on the overall structural design and the module division from the top layer to the segmentation.The second, it completed one kind of high performance segmentation designed by full custom method. In the segmentation core was the multichannel 32 accumulators and the storage protection module, in the article introduced the accumulator and the storage protection module main circuit design with emphasis, including partly adding electric circuit, full adder electric circuit, boundary comparator and so on; Also has carried on the circuit design to the segmentation register, and deferred to its respective function to make a series of optimized improvementThe third, during the design, parallel has carried on the sub-module level, the module level and the system module level the logical verification and the electric circuit verification to it.
