"Chomolungma National NatureReserve Ecotourism Self=Service System" is a WebGIS system for Chomolungma NatureReserve which designed and developed using WebGIS technology, based on full research, analysis and field investigation. This article analyzed system requirements, clarified system implementation method based on WebGIS technology in view of the features of Chomolungma National NatureReserve. Server Operation System used RedHat Linux Enterprise AS4; Client Fortal used popular browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, FIREFOX and on.; Database Management System used FostgreSQLS.0; Aapplication Server Flatform used the Servlet server above Tomcat5.0; WebGIS Flatform used the open-source GeoServer which bases on JavaEE to develop WebGIS secondarily.This thesis was divided into seven chapters. In the first chapter, it introduced related background materials briefly as foreword. In the second chapter, it presented the aim and significance for this subject, the domestic and international research situation, the main mission and contents. In the third chapter, it analyzed the system and configured related system developing circumstance. In the fourth chapter, it introduced the system project design including architecture, user interface, function module, database, construction and algorithm of data. In the fifth chapter, it expatiated part of function implementation which used Chomolungma National NatureReserve Ecotourism Self=Service System as example, such as how to search tour destination, how to confirm self=service tour itinerary, etc.. The sixth chapter is the discussion about research key technology. The last chapter is conclusion and prospect, it summarized the research results of this thesis and the work which need to continue in the future.The article exploited the application area of existing technology which integrated WebGIS, AJAX and database management technology, combined with the features of ecotourism via research, design and development. The system implementation has popularization promotion significance for the development and traveling information of Tibet ecotourism.
