From recent years especially the year of SARS crisis, the report of leaders in TV of China begins to appear new trends. The ability of leaders'policy decision﹑diplomacy﹑dealing with outbreaking public affairs and more genial image are emerged frequently through TV and combine with people's life inseparably. The gentle image of leaders'close to the masses is emerged more and more and present more powerful personal charm. Because the medium of television has the character of communicating through audio and visual way at the same time, so TV has the unique advantage of representing the image of governmental leadership. Through taking great advantage of the medium of television, the leaders can not only represent their charm, but also let the decision put into practice smoothly and promote the stability and development of the country from the greater sense. And because the leaders'important position make their every movement has higher attention and influence, so reporting the leaders successfully can also make a famous program and a famous host. This mutual impact between leaders and medium of television can bring gigantic win-win effect, so studying this topic has significative sense for the development of Chinese TV and Chinese democratization even the whole country's stability.Currently, with the improvement of Chinese media environment and Chinese political democratization keeping in accelerating, the image of leaders are changing greatly meanwhile and attract more and more scholars'attention. With the uprising of Chinese economy and Comprehensive National Power, China has more important status in the world, so how to report the activity of leaders better for improving leaders'image is an important study for both the medium of television and the government itself.The main parts of this thesis are as followings: the first part is to define the certain concept of leaders'media image from view of political communication; the second part is to study the status of leaders'image in different medium; the third part is to study the status of Chinese leaders'image in Chinese TV program through studying the styles of TV program and typical leaders'TV program; the fourth part is to analyze the status of foreign leaders'image in Chinese TV program and compare the difference between Chinese leaders'image and foreign leaders'image; the fifth part is to analyze the mutual impact between political leaders and media; the sixth part is to analyze the new trends of leaders'image in Chinese TV program in the future from the aspect of media and leaders.
