With introducing into advanced technology in developed countries and absorbing it, the combing technology develops rapidly in our country. After China's accession to the World Trade Organization, we will confront huge challenge. Domestic combing machines can survive in the fierce competition only by continuous innovation and development.The process of mechanical product scheme design is full of creativity and innovation. The investment in this process is relatively small, but it will bring pretty high values and to a large extent determine the function, quality, cost of the product and development time, etc.Along with the continuous development and improvement of the computer technology, we will surely improve and perfect the innovation quality and efficiency of mechanical product scheme if we can carry out Computer Aided Scheme Design (CASD) and combine designer's professional knowledge, abstract thinking ability and innovation design ability with CASD.Aimed at the research purpose above, this thesis researched the implement of CASD with the main motive mechanisms as design subject, focused on the related principle and technology of automatic scheme generation for motive mechanisms. The thesis investigated methods and theories of modern scheme design, knowledge modeling in the process of scheme design, automatic scheme generation and realization of CASD.This thesis followed FPAM (Function-Process-Action-Machinery) process model, based on products function, built the machinery knowledge base, established a software platform model of mechanisms scheme design for combing machine with the research of mechanism selection and mechanism connection. In this paper, the author also presented two different ways of function decomposition, to get innovative result or optimized one.This research emphasized on CASD of mechanical products, aimed at adapting the market need, improving the design efficiency, making an effort in solving insufficient of the traditional designing methods, establishing a typical mechanical product scheme design system in the early process of product design and providing the designers with an innovative design method or clue for the following design work.The last chapter concludes the content and new view of this thesis, presenting some suggestion for further research of CASD as reference.
