With the development of Internet and the coming of the post-era of PC, embedded system has become a new hotspot of research in the field of computer technology. Embedded system is a complex system consisting of hardware and software. How to learn embedded system is an important issue. The embedded software development is related to both hardware and software. The paper researches and develops the part of software, which aims at studying and developing embedded system.Generally speaking, the embedded software has no commonality, and is designed to suit a certain platform. The software in the paper is fit for teaching system based on CCM3118DQ. CCM3118DQ is a kind of general-purpose microcontrollers(MCU) based on 32-bit C*CORE C310, which is produced by Su Zhou China-Core Corporation. The MCU has many advantages, such as high speed, low consumption, low cost and powerful function.The paper firstly introduces embedded system, and discusses the platform and tools of software development. Embedded operation system is the most important part of the embedded system. The teaching system adopts embedded Linux operation system. The paper expatiates on the design procedure, source code structure and JARI-Linux. Then the device drivers based on Linux are elaborated, including the sort, structure, problems needed attention and debug of the drivers. At last, the paper analyzes some device drivers and applications in detail.
